Thank you for visiting my website.  Three of the participants of the Finney DNA Project at http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Finney  are looking for male descendents of Robert Finney who lived on the farm Thunder Hill in Chester County, PA to particpate in the Finney DNA project. The project has Y-DNA results from a descendent of Dr. John Finney who married Elizabeth and William Finney who married Jean Stephenson. We are awaiting the return of a test kit from Kansas and the Y-DNA of Robert's son Lazarus Finney will be added to the Finney DNA Database.

MR FINNEY'S TURNIP      HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW  Age 9

Mr Finney had a turnip

And it grew and it grew

And it grew behind the barn

And the turnip did no harm

And it grew and it grew

Till it could grow no taller

Then Mr Finney took it up

And put it in the cellar

There it lay there it lay

Till it began to rot

When his daughter Susie washed it

And put it in the pot

Then she boiled it and she boiled it

As long as she was able

Then his daughter Lizzie took it

And she put it on the table

Mr Finney and his wife

Both sat down to sup

And they ate and they ate

Until they ate the turnip up
